Session Times & Fees
St Joseph's caters for children aged 2 to 4.
The preschool operates in term time only
2-4 Year Old Playgroup Class
Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays 9:00am - 12:15pm
Sessions aimed at both younger children and those preparing to start school in September.
The children will concentrate on learning through play. Staff supervise and guide the children while facilitating their imagination and creativity.
Children have access to artwork materials daily and will participate in storytimes, singing and baking to name a few exciting endeavours. We also believe in the great benefits of fresh air and the children will have the opportunity to play in the garden and use the outside space whenever the weather permits.
Playgroup sessions also include a healthy snacktime which is provided by St Josephs. We ask that parents make a voluntary snack contribution of 75p per session.
Parents are invited at the close of each term to a seasonal "Concert" performed by the children and a catch up with the staff.
3-4 Year Old Preschool Class
Tuesdays & Thursdays 9:00am - 1:15pm
The children will continue play led learning and all activities mentioned above (see playgroup class description) while also beginning to concentrate on more numeracy and literacy aspects of the curriculum through more structured classroom style lessons.
In these sessions the children will also be required to bring a healthy packed lunch with them which they will eat with their fellow preschoolers.
Our preschoolers also take part in a PE lesson each Thursday for which a kit must be provided by the parents. This will remain at school and can be collected to be taken home and washed each half term.
Your child's PE kit should include:
a pair of shorts
a pair of trainers or pumps
a pair of socks
